Nikon D3500 Bundle:

I decided if I was going to jump into photography and videography I wanted to do it with a solid starter bundle.  After researching both Canon, Nikon, and Sony, I settled on the Nikon D3500 Bundle.  The D3500 bundle came with the D3500 base, a Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens, a Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens, and lots of extras such as filters for both lenses, decent memory card, two ion batteries, two telephoto lenses (55mm and 58mm), lens hoods for both lenses, cleaning kit, strap, USB SD Card reader, a handy case to carry it all, and more.

Mactrem Tripod:

I had a cheaper (shoddy) tripod that I had used on some BWCA with an action camera, but I want to shoot scenic ambience and landscapes with my new camera, and that meant getting a more stable and durable tripod with certain features that would help ensure a level camera platform.  I could have spent a lot more but decided to take a chance on this moderately priced Mactrem Tripod with excellent reviews.  So far so good.  It has six variable height adjustments from 16.9″ to 63.8″.

SanDisk 128GB Extreme Pro SD Card:

Because I was going to be shooting scenic ambience videos as well as other content for my YouTube, I wanted a really good SD card.  It had to be highly reliable and have a fast transfer read/write capabilities.  Enough said, this card is overkill, but I wanted overkill.  If your SD card is sub-par you are going to loose photos and video – and that would be devastating.  I don’t ever want to have to say, “well, my SD card sucks”.
